The award-winning Figo’s on Kilmarnock Road in Shawlands is set to make a long awaited return today.
Glasgow south side food fans are delighted over the eagerly-anticipated return of much-loved food spot Figo’s Peri Peri.
The popular Kilmarnock Road eatery, in Shawlands, closed after a devastating fire just over a year ago. Good news for fans, it is set to reopen today, Wednesday April 8.
For the opening, from 5pm, they will only be accepting cash and it’s for a good cause as all proceeds from the special £1 menu (exclusively for today) will go to Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland.
The south side favourite first opened up back in 2019, before expanding to Coatbridge. Since then it has won multiple awards, including the coveted best peri peri spot at the SPICE Awards.
When they first opened, they pledged that their flavourings for the Peri Peri chicken at Figo’s would be made fresh daily, which means they won’t lose their quality of taste.
Set to reopen seven days a week, the takeaway and restaurant will also be offering fresh additions to its menu, including Nashville hot chicken, a distinct style of fried chicken characterised by its intense heat, crunchy coating, and signature spicy oil coating.
They added: “So much to be excited about here at Figos with Shawlands opening back up – but things just got that much more exciting”.
New menu items including Nashville Chicken Figo’s style, tender strips, corn ribs, Nashville waffle loaded fries, the Nashville Burger and the Nashville wrap.
Reacting to the news, fans stated they were “buzzing”, with one posting: “You were my pregnancy craving before the fire and my daughter is 8 months old now. Cannot wait.”
While another simply added: “Finally.”
We can’t wait, we’ll see you in the queue.
