Aldi names locations in Glasgow and UK that could get new store – full list

The budget supermarket chain is looking to open new stores in the UK

Aldi has revealed its latest list of locations where it’s hoping to open new branches. Several sites are in Scotland with locations in Glasgow among those being considered.

The supermarket is now asking shoppers to help identify the ideal spots for future stores. The budget retailer is encouraging customers to put forward suggestions for where new Aldi branches should be established.

The most frequently requested areas will be assessed by Aldi’s property team as part of the chain’s ongoing pledge to expand its presence across more communities. The discounter is ploughing over £370 million into new stores this year, progressing towards its ambitious long-term goal of 1,500 locations across the UK.

Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re asking our shoppers to help us identify the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.

“Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay.”

The supermarket launched a similar campaign last year, which identified locations in London, Merseyside and Oxfordshire as top priorities among customers. Since then, work has already begun to bring a new store near Pendle Drive, Liverpool, and to Hanworth and Willesden in London, reports Devon Live.

To put forward a town or area for consideration, customers can email NextNewStore@aldi.co.uk and include the town they wish to nominate in the email’s subject line. Aldi is inviting submissions until Thursday, 18 June 2026, with the supermarket set to publish its findings and announce the next wave of priority locations later this year.
