A vile road rage yob spat on a woman during a Paisley town centre parking row.

Police have launched a hunt for the disgusting lout who gobbed on a 30-year-old woman through her car window in Causeyside Street.

The incident unfolded on Monday morning outside Cash Converters, officers investigating have revealed.

It is understood the victim was attempting to park around 10.30am when a man pulled up in his car and tried to park in the same

Following an argument, the suspect leaned out his window and spat at the frightened victim before speeding off.

Police are now scouring CCTV from the area in a bid to identify the suspect.

Inspector Tracy Harkins, from Paisley’s community policing team, said: “This was clearly a distressing incident for the victim, who was simply attempting to park when she was accosted by an unknown male driver, who then spat at her.

“We are very keen to trace this individual and we are carrying out enquiries in the area.

“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward to police immediately.

“If you have any information in relation to what happened we would like to hear from you.”

Meanwhile, police are also investigating after a 20-year-old man was jumped and battered by three yobs.

The victim was walking along Brediland Road, Paisley, around midnight on Sunday when the gang pounced.

They rained punches and kicks on him during the onslaught before making off.

The victim sustained cuts and grazes in the attack but did not require hospital treatment.

Cops said the attackers were aged between 16 and 18 and were wearing dark-coloured clothing with hoods up.

Inspector Harkins added: “This appears to have been a random attack and we are keen to identify those responsible.

“If you saw or heard anything in the area we would like to hear from you.”
