A raucous couple attacked Renfrewshire hotel workers during a drunken rammy.
Thomas McGougan, 34, and Sarah Litterick, 26, assaulted workers called to their room amid noise complaints from angry guests at Gleddoch Hotel, Langbank.
McGougan bit and punched hotel worker Alan Reid, from Paisley, during the melee, while his partner Litterick elbowed another member of staff, Jordan Annan, from Inchinnan, in the face.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard a number of guests reported a disturbance at around 5.45am on February 9, 2019, to the hotel reception.
Procurator fiscal depute Victoria Keel said “several calls had been received at reception” about the noise coming from room 44.
She said: “Staff members went to investigate. The witnesses saw McGougan present in the stairwell engaged in a verbal altercation with another party.
“Staff members attempted to quell the disturbance.
“McGougan made his way down the stairwell, where the accused confronted Mr Reid in an aggressive manner.
“The witness tried to calm him down.
“The accused pushed him to the chest and shoulders and attempted to grab him around the neck.
“The witness made efforts to resist the accused. They both fell to the ground, where both struck their heads.
“The accused thereafter bit the forearm of Mr Reid and then punched the witness on the head several times.”
The prosecutor added Litterick, who was present during the rammy, “elbowed witness Annan to the jaw causing him to fall backwards then kicked him on the body”.
The hotel staff members contacted police to report the assaults, with officers arriving quickly on the scene.
McGougan was arrested and handcuffed on the spot.
His partner Litterick claimed to cops: “I would never do that to someone ever,” when she was arrested.
