Renfrewshire sizzled in the summer sunshine yesterday as the Bishopton weather station recorded the hottest day of the year.
The Met Office weather station saw the mercury reach a scorching 27.7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
The July record for the weather station is a melting 29.4C.
STV weatherman Sean Batty, who is from Paisley and lives in the area, posted on Twitter on Tuesday: “Renfrewshire – It’s the hottest day of the year here with a high of 27.7C in Bishopton.
“Not a million miles off the July record of 29.4C, and with higher temperatures in the next few days we’ll get even closer.”
The hot weather is forecast to continue into tomorrow, with temperatures reaching 29C.
Going into the weekend, it is meant to get slightly cooler, dropping to a warm 24C.
So make sure you slather on the suncream, stay in the shade where you can and make sure pets, young children and older folk are kept cool.
