A play area packed with new equipment has been unveiled in Paisley’s Foxbar.
Children can now make the most of the Morar Drive facility, which has accessible and inclusive equipment, as well as a climbing frame, zip line and swings.
Councillor Stephen Burns, who is also depute convener of the Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board, was delighted to see the completion of the project.
It is one of 11 parks getting a revamp thanks to a £1million investment from the council.
The SNP politician said: “It’s brilliant to see the completion of this park, which is packed with fun and exciting equipment for the children in the area, whether it’s the slide, swings, or zip line at this particular facility.
“It gives them a great reason to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, and the works have come at an ideal time with the summer holidays around the corner.
“Our parks and play areas are so important to families in Renfrewshire, which the council recognises and that is why this significant investment was made.

“It is also so beneficial for families’ mental health for them to have somewhere to meet with their children in the community.”
Schools, community groups and councillors had been asked what they think should be included in their area, with this feedback shaping the plans for each play park.
Providing safe spaces for children to enjoy and play in was earmarked as a key priority by Councillor Burns and his Paisley Southwest colleague Provost Lorraine Cameron, who was also thrilled to see the playpark open.
While the installation of such projects is ongoing, the pair have been discussing a proposal for a playpark in Glenburn’s Braehead Road, which they hope can be delivered in the future.
Councillor Michelle Campbell, convener of the Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board, earlier this year emphasised the importance of investing in “modern creative free play for children”.
She said: “As an administration, we have listened to our local communities across Renfrewshire by ensuring our significant playpark investment reflects their needs and provides modern, exciting play provision.
“Now more than ever, we know how important it is to invest in modern creative free play for children across our communities.”
