Murder bid sees gang of thugs seriously injure man with weapons in Paisley

An attempted murder probe has been launched after a gang of thugs seriously injured a man with weapons in Paisley.

The attack took place on Henderson Street, near to the junction with Brown Street, around 6.35pm on Wednesday April 28.

The 30-year-old victim was with another man when three assailants jumped out of a close and attacked him in what Police are calling a targeted incident..

He was rushed to Royal Alexandra Hospital with serious head injuries and remains in a serious but stable condition.

All of the suspects are described as being white and were wearing dark clothing.

They fled the scene as members of the public rushed to the man’s aid and called emergency services.

Detective Inspector Ian Ross from Paisley CID said: “From enquiries carried out so far, we believe this may have been a pre-planned and targeted attack on the victim, which has left him with serious injuries.

“The incident happened in a busy residential area, with lots of flats overlooking the street, and it is likely that people will have witnessed what happened.

“I am appealing for anyone who was nearby and saw the assault take place, or noticed anything at all suspicious, to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is being urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2962 of Wednesday, 28 April.
