Four arrested after cops target Renfrewshire car-theft gang

Police Scotland has busted a gang of car thieves operating in Renfrewshire.

Four men were arrested after addresses were targeted in Barrhead, Irvine, Paisley and Johnstone areas.

The suspects, aged 34, 37, 39 and 41 were charged with car theft and related offences and are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Robert Bowie, based at Paisley Police Office, revealed officers from Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Division’s Serious and Organised Crime Team were assisted by colleagues from Greater Glasgow and Ayrshire Division in the operation.
