East Renfrewshire Council is launching a series of public consultations to help develop Local Actions Plans that will help to transform towns and neighbourhoods.
Following consultations launched earlier this year – covering areas including Barrhead and Neilston -this second series will include a host of other towns.
Over the next five years, the UK and Scottish governments are providing capital regeneration funding opportunities for town centres and neighbourhoods across Scotland and the council’s Economic Development team wants to ensure that communities in East Renfrewshire are able to make the most of this by delivering on transformational plans across the area.

The investments can cover a wide range of projects such as upgrading the town centre public realm and green spaces, making better use of land and existing buildings, shop front improvement schemes, improved digital connectivity and developing active travel opportunities.
The online consultations launch on Monday, October 3 and Housing and Environment convener, Councillor Danny Devlin, said: “These consultations are a really valuable opportunity for the local community to tell us what improvements they’d like to see in their area.
“We’re committed to investing in and upgrading public spaces and facilities and we want to ensure that when funding is available, we’re confident of where it should be spent.
“I’d encourage anyone who can to have their say online or drop-in to one of our engagement events. I’d also like to thank those who participated in our first series of town consultations that took place earlier in the year.”
The consultations will be available online from October 3 at eastrenfrewshireprogramme.commonplace.is/ and will close on November 21.
