The efforts of Paisley residents has helped a church raise £2500 to boost efforts for Ukranian refugees.
Parishioners at the town’s Sherwood Greenlaw Church were backed by the community as they staged a fundraising coffee morning event on Saturday.
And the sizeable cash sum will now go to the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Ukraine appeal.
As well as coffee, home baking and refreshments, stalls and a raffle helped boost the total.

Church members are also selling Ukraine ribbons, in the colours of the country’s national flag, to help raise cash.
The pins are on sale for a suggested minimum donation of £1.50.
Parishioner John Patrick was amongst those who helped out with the event.
He told the Express: “It was very difficult not to come up with an idea to help the Ukranian people because it was on the TV all the time and it was very obvious that the people of the Ukraine needed more help to try and rebuild their lives.
“The idea of doing something to help quickly grew in the church and it was taken to the fundraising and social committee and agreed that we should have a coffee morning.”
And he commended the efforts of the community who rallied to help the effort, saying: “We took the idea to the youth organisations, like the Brownies, the BBs and the junior church to see what they could contribute and they did things like make the bunting for us.
“Our members got out and about and one of the local retailers close to the church generously donated a raffle prize and also gave out flyers for us. It really became a community event, we reached out to the committee of the Burns Club and Hawkhead Bowling Club to donate and come along to support us and they did.
“The community turned out in force to be there, people were really just desperate to do something and this was just one way they could at least contribute. It was very well supported.”
The community effort helped the church raise the £2500 with donations still coming in.
Added John: “We have also just had another order for more of our Ukraine ribbons, which will also help.”
